🔐 Verified identity

Online, anyone can claim to be anyone. And using the same username on several platforms doesn't necessarily mean the same person is behind it.

Facebook, X and the other centralized platforms don't guarantee that an account with a given name belongs to the same person who uses that name elsewhere.

This repository has a single purpose: proving that the emanuelegori account on this Forgejo really belongs to me, by linking it to my OpenPGP key through Keyoxide.

No central platform vouches for me: anyone can check the link between my profiles and recognise the online identities that belong to me, without simply having to trust what I say.

My key

6A91 62DF 847E 480E 2F54 0E87 3A36 8DED 3B6C 9DB1

This is my OpenPGP key's fingerprint: the same one you'll find in this repository's description.

The current status of every check is always on my Keyoxide profile.

How it works

  1. My key contains a reference to this repository.
  2. This repository's description contains my key's fingerprint (openpgp4fpr:…).
  3. Keyoxide checks that each one points to the other: only someone holding both the private key and the account can create this link.

That's why the name and description of this repository never change.
